The Mayor’s Marathon
On Saturday 20th April, The Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Vicky Smith and five of her friends, ventured along the Lea Valley.
The group started in Stratford and after 26 miles, ended in Hertford.

• Walthamstow Wetlands
• King George V Reservoir, Ponders End
• White Water Rafting Centre
• Waltham Abbey
• Broxbourne • Hoddesdon
• Rye Meads
• Stansted Abbots
• Ware
• Folly Island, Hertford
The Mayor of Hertford, Councillor Vicky Smith said:
“I’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored or supported us in any way. The walk was tough, and we have some incredible blisters, but we’re thrilled to have raised so much money for the Mayoral charities.”
The ‘Mayor’s Marathon’ was Cllr Vicky Smith’s last event for the Mayoral year to raise money for her two chosen Charities. The walk has currently raised £900 to add to the Mayor of Hertford’s Appeal Fund 2023/24 in aid of Mudlarks and the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
