Meet U O E Store & Post Office and U O E Business Hub
Hertford’s UOE Store & Hertford Post Office is open seven days a week, which means that local people can access the full range of Post Office services every day.
The store sells design-led stationery, cards and gifts as well as essential office supplies. It also offers services for small businesses and individuals such as printing, binding, and copying and a passport photo printing service too.
Above the Store & Post Office is the UOE Hub , a co-working office space for Hertford’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. For an inclusive monthly fee, businesses can rent small offices or desk space, giving them a professional atmosphere to work in without all the distractions of working at home. The benefits of a serviced office space are many, and the fees include utilities, cleaning, maintenance, WiFi, discounts in the store downstairs and unlimited tea and coffee!
UOE helped to rescue and rehome the Postman Pat-shaped NSPCC collecting box that was a staple part of the old Hertford Post Office. Pat now stands proudly by the Post Office counters where he receives hugs from younger customers and helps raise money for the NSPCC.
We also support local schools’ PTAs by donating raffle prizes to their Summer and Christmas fayres.

As part of our on-going green commitment, we have begun to stock ‘naked’ greetings cards, i.e. cards that are not in plastic wrappers. We have already stopped using plastic carrier bags in favour of paper ones, stock 1,300 products with FSC certification and/or recycled content, and use
lower energy LED light bulbs. More green products and initiatives will be introduced in 2020.
