On behalf of the residents of our town, The Worshipful, The Mayor of Hertford and Hertford Town Council offer deepest sympathies to the Royal Family on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty the Queen gave a lifetime of service to our country. Known for her sense of duty and her devotion to a life of service, she has been an important figurehead for the UK and the Commonwealth during times of enormous social change. That service leaves a considerable legacy including her extraordinary support for public and voluntary service.’’- Cllr Susan Barber, The Worshipful, The Mayor of Hertford.
To mark this sad news, Hertford Town Council is flying its flag at half-mast during the period of national mourning.
Flowers in memory of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II may be left at either side of doors facing the main lawn at Hertford Castle.
A book of Remembrance is available at Hertford Castle for local residents to sign during the Town Council opening hours.
