Hertford Town Council COVID-19 Update

Hertford Town Council is continuing to run its services as much as possible. The preferred method of contact with the Council at this time is via the telephone or e-mail.
The following changes are being made to respond to Covid-19.

 Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre

Following Government guidelines, Hertford Town Council have closed the Town and Tourist Information Centre with immediate effect.

The Town and Tourist Information Centre staff will be operating solely via telephone on 01992 552885 and email tic@hertford.gov.uk between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday – Thursday and 9am – 4.30pm on Fridays.

Castle Events

The following events scheduled to take place at Hertford Castle are cancelled;

• 75^th Anniversary of VE Day – Friday 8^th May
• Cars at the Castle – Sunday 24^th May
• Hertford Castle Fun Day – Sunday 7^th June
• Hertford Castle Open Air Theatre – Sunday 21^st June
• Hertford Castle Teddy Bears’ Picnic – Sunday 19^th July

Tickets will be refunded to those who have purchased tickets to the Hertford Castle Open Air Theatre and customers will be contacted directly.

Other Events & Initiatives

The following events have also been cancelled for their scheduled dates, however we hope that they will take place later in the year.

• Hertford Arts Trail
• Town Centre Easter Trail – Noah’s Ark Theme
• Love Hertford Awards

Hertford Castle and Mill Bridge Hire Bookings

Hertford Town Council have cancelled all venue hire bookings until 30 June 2020. Bookings are currently being taken for venue hire from 1^st July 2020 onwards.

All other Council services remain open. At present community events scheduled to take place after 31^st July will continue. At present, venue hire bookings scheduled to take place after 30^th June will take place. The Council will be regularly reviewing the situation and its continuing response to Covid-19

The Town Council apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and will be in touch with individuals and organisations affected by this announcement.
