Hertford in Bloom is back this July. So may people are at home and tending their gardens that Mudlarks and Love Flowers want to carry on the community spirit, and gardening is so good for your mind, body, and soul.
The aim of the competition is to encourage the improvement of our town through the imaginative use of plants and flowers. It also aims to achieve a litter free and sustainable environment, and to beautify the town for residents.
There are a few slight changes to this year’s competition in line with social distancing rules, but there are still 6 great categories for you to choose from and judging will take place during the 2nd week of July.
Entries are now open for people situated in the SG13 and SG14 postcode area who want to help to transform Hertford with floral displays this summer.
The competition is open to everyone from novices to professional gardeners.
Vic Hobson from Mudlarks said, “With so many people having more time to tend their gardens, we are very excited about this year’s Hertford in Bloom. It’s at times like these that the people of Hertford really pull together; we have an amazing community spirit.”
Yellie from Love Flowers said, “Love Flowers is very proud to be associated with Hertford in Bloom again. Colourful flowers are always guaranteed to bring a smile to people’s faces. What better way to bring a little colour to these unprecedented times.”
Entry forms can be downloaded at www.mudlarksgarden.org.uk/hertford-in-bloom.
Judging will take place in the second week in July.
