Following on from the popularity of the Circus Workshops at Hertford Play Day, a town centre event for children held on Wednesday 7th August, Hertford Town Council will be offering families the opportunity to enjoy free circus activities in the school holidays all year round.

Children can try their hand at an array of circus skills by using the equipment provided, including juggling, spinning plates, diablo, hula hoop and ribbon dance gymnastics from Wednesday 21st August (the same day as Hertford Tween Fest).

The circus apparatus will be located in the Bircherely Green shopping area outside of WHSmith, the activity partners.

WHSmith Store Manager, Lawrance Brownlee said "We at WHSmith Hertford are delighted to be activity partners with Hertford Town Council. WHSmith have been on the UK high street for over 226 years and continue to deliver customer and community needs. We hope that the free circus activities outside of our store will bring enjoyment and fun to the children that visit our great historic town".

This Hertford Town Council organised attraction will provide the opportunity for parents and guardians to enjoy free entertainment and activities throughout the school holidays whilst they shop and dine at the vast number of independent and national shops and eateries within the county town.

The circus activities will be available to all from Monday – Friday during the school holidays.

Chairman of Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: “This is just the latest in the series of activities which Hertford Town Council has organised in Hertford town centre.  The circus equipment will enable children to enjoy something a bit different, and perhaps learn new skills.”

Parents/guardians must ensure they supervise their children at all times whilst participating in the activities, which will not be staffed.
