This short 6 week course whistle-stops three significant areas of photography in more detail to help you focus on getting the most from your camera.
Equipment and Experience:
You'll probably have some experience with your camera and would be looking to get the most from it within a range of setups to take forward your knowledge. You'll ideally also have access to a tripod. (It may be possible to hire one, please ask enquire for more details)
Simply bring along your camera and instruction manual and start to get more from the following areas:
1 - Portrait photography
A hands on look at portrait photography looking at what portraits actually entail, what equipment you'll need to achieve the right results - including lighting.
You'll get an understanding of the various ways a portrait can be shot and interpreted, look at composition and its importance, look at the huge impact of light and uses of light - understand how to control contrast and direction.
You'll also cover different lighting setups and the pros and cons.
Understand the various options with lighting - e.g. key and fill lights and the impact on your subject.
You'll run through how to set up your subject including the impact of posing and positioning of the subject.
2 - Landscape photography
Understand how to photograph landscapes, city scapes, landmarks and buildings.
See how light can impact shots and exposure.
See how composition plays such an important role in creating a great shot
3 - Low light photography
Explore the challenges of shooting photos at night - with a mixture of classroom and practical shooting around Hertford.
Understand how flash and fill light can impact the dynamic range of photos.
