J D Davies is a multiple prize-winning and bestselling author. His non-fiction work has won the Anderson, Corbett and Pepys prizes, with his latest book, Kings of the Sea: Charles II, James II and the Royal Navy, also gaining a certificate of merit for the Mountbatten Prize. His series of naval fiction set in the seventeenth century, ‘the Journals of Matthew Quinton’, was described by The Times as ‘a series of real panache’; eight titles have been published to date.
