Hertford is well served by two railway stations with trains arriving from London every 15 minutes. 

Hertford East has a half-hourly service from London Liverpool Street. Hertford East station is a five-10 minute walk from the town centre.

Hertford North station is a 15 minute walk from the town centre. Hertford North station is on the Stevenage line served from Moorgate with a journey time of approx. 40 minutes.
