Hertford Community Heroes
Hertford Community Awards The Mayor of Hertford wants to recognise Hertford’s Community Heroes.
There will be awards for individuals and organisations in each of two categories: The Mayor’s Community Award and The Mayor’s Eco Award.
The Community Award aims to recognise those people or groups who:
Bring Hertford together via community events, sports activities, youth clubs, etc.
Volunteer in any capacity.
Foster the ‘Spirit of Hertford’ celebrating its cultural heritage through the arts, culture, music or sport.
Enhance the look or feel of the town in a positive way
The Eco Award aims to recognise those people or groups who:
Promote or deliver local environmentally sustainable schemes.
Safeguard and enhance the natural environment.
Increase Biodiversity.
Some examples of these could be: litter picking, hedge laying, river cleaning, planting, recycling, re-using, building bug hotels etc.
Please submit your nomination and provide a brief description of why they have been nominated, for either one or both of the categories, by Friday 8th March. A shortlist will be created based on nominations and the winners will be announced by the Mayor at the Annual Town Meeting at Hertford Castle on March 21st.
