GDPR & CYBER CRIME - Ticketed Event for Entrepreneurs

Hertford Town Council will be hosting the next Hertford Entrepreneurs event on Wednesday 7th February at Hertford Castle, from 18.30 until 20.00.
The event will start with wine, nibbles and networking from 18.30 – 19.00 followed by an hour talk about the cyber threats that pose risk to businesses and the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By attending this ticketed event, entrepreneurs will gain an insight into the cyber security threat landscape, learn how to protect their business from falling foul to hackers and reduce risk of data breach.
The following areas will be discussed:
• Cyber Threat Landscape: Ransomware, phishing and social engineering
• GDPR Overview: Processors, controllers, consent, etc.
• Cyber Security Insurance
Experts in the industry, Peter Smits the Managing Director of Ashbourne Insurance and James Naylor the owner of ITbuilder are equipped to help SMEs counter this significant threat to business.
Peter Smits sits on the steering committee of David Lloyd Police and Crime Commissioner’s “Hertfordshire’s Independent Business Advisory Group (IBAG)” and is a specialist guest speaker at GDPR & Cyber Security Seminars in Hertfordshire. Peter spoke alongside Microsoft in 2017 at a GDPR and Cyber Security Seminar which explained the changes around General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becoming law in May 2018 and how to prepare for it.
James Naylor is a technology expert in business IT solutions. James previously spent a decade working in a global IT vendor in a variety of technical and sales roles before starting ITbuilder in 2001 as the technology revolution took hold in the world of small and medium-sized business.
