Funding of up to £1200 can be awarded under this scheme for a range of purposes, including public events, projects being undertaken by local voluntary organisations and endeavours by individuals which show a clear benefit to Hertford residents..

Additionally, in March 2018 the Council was pleased to announce that it had set up a new grant scheme from funds received under the New Homes Bonus and last night it considered its first applications to this scheme.  The Council was delighted to award The Friends of St Leonards a grant of £10,423 towards the cost of toilet facilities at the church, which marks the end of a long period of community fundraising to bring this project to fruition.

The Chairman of the Finance, Policy and Administration Committee, Cllr Bob Deering, said:

"As always, we are very pleased to have awarded a further number of community grants and although the amounts that we can make available are modest, they go to deserving causes and we know they make a difference and it's very good that we're in a position to help.   We are also looking forward to receiving applications for ambitious projects from our New Homes Bonus grant fund and we were delighted to support the Friends of St Leonards Church in its fundraising for new facilities.
