The Georgian period in Hertford was full of colourful characters, libertines and rakes. There were highwaymen, a prison reformer, poets, artists and eccentric aristocrats to name just a few.
It was also an age of elegance which gave us some handsome houses and the Shire Hall. Our walk explores this lively period in Hertford’s history.
