The Mayor of Hertford’s Annual Quiz raises thousands for local charities!
Hertford Town Council is delighted to announce that the annual Mayor of Hertford’s Charity Quiz raised nearly £2000 for the Mayor’s Appeal Fund.
The Mayor's two local charities are East Herts Citizens Advice and Hertford & District Girl Guides.
On Friday 10th January, around 200 people attended the first Mayoral event of 2025 – the annual Mayor of Hertford’s Charity Quiz.
This year’s event, held at Simon Balle School, was expertly compiled and hosted by Pam Brittain. As well as the quiz, an excellent supper from Carly's Fish and Chips, (with refreshments from Majestic) was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part and it was the team from Hertford Library who triumphed and went home with first prize.
The Mayor of Hertford, Councillor Rachel Carter commented: “It was wonderful to see so many of our local community coming together to enjoy themselves at our annual Quiz. I'd like to thank all those who helped with the preparations or donated items for the raffle as well as all who attended such a great evening - supporting two wonderful local charities. Congratulations to Hertford Library - who were worthy winners indeed.”
Thanks go to all the generous local businesses who supported the event with donations for prizes for a very successful raffle: Hertford House Hotel, Quattro Lounge Hertford, Albany Radio, Secret Space, BEAM, Coffee Lab, Nu You Pilates, Margaux’s Lifestyle Store for Dogs, Oxfam Bookshop, Love Flowers, Marks & Spencer Simply Food Hertford, Tesco Hertford and Sele Coop.
