Mayor’s Vintage Tea Party

Yesterday afternoon, the Mayor of Hertford - Cllr Rachel Carter, hosted around fifty of Hertford’s over 75-year-olds at Hertford Castle for afternoon tea.

The afternoon was a wonderful occasion, with delicious refreshments being prepared and served by some of Hertford’s Town Councillors and volunteers from Hertford and District Girlguiding.

Guests enjoyed a Raffle and bingo as well as beautiful cakes kindly donated by Leaf Café and Pickle and Slice.

Mudlarks and Bakery 13 sponsored the party and provided a range of tea-time delights and donations were also gratefully received from Sainsburys and Tesco.

Councillor Rachel Carter, Mayor of Hertford, commented:

“It was wonderful to welcome some young-at-heart members of our community to Hertford Castle and share in such a lovely tea party.

I am most grateful to the Hertford and District Brownies and Guides who worked so hard to cater to our guests’ needs and also to all the local charities and businesses who supported the event with donations of lovely tea things and items for the Raffle.

ertford has, once again, come together to give some joy to some of our most treasured residents, reminding us all of the immense generosity and community spirit within this Town.”

Any donations kindly given at the event will go to the Mayor’s charities - Citizens Advice East Herts and the Hertford and District Guides.
