Local magazine launched for older Hertford residents

Activities For You has been launched for the town's older people.

A Hertford resident has launched a new monthly magazine for older adults. The traditional-style paper publication is designed to entertain, connect, and celebrate the experiences of senior citizens.

Sue Darvell, who's launched the magazine, said: "Activities are my passion; for many years I have enjoyed creating themed quizzes and  personalised games. Having worked with older adults as a carer and an activity coordinator, I know about the importance of connection, communication, and having fun. Witnessing the isolation that some people live with, inspired me to create the magazine."

Each issue is filled with a variety of engaging content, including quizzes, word and number games, craft activities, competitions, treasure hunts, reminiscence features, and a pen friend service to help keep the joy of writing and receiving letters alive.

Whether readers simply want to fill some quiet time, or you want to make an active contribution to the warm and welcoming reader community, the magazine is there for you. The aim is for readers to feel valued, respected, and most importantly — never forgotten.

Activities For You gives its readers the opportunity to shape its content. From submitting an idea for a quiz or crossword, creating artwork, a poem or a short story, to sharing personal recollections, special photos, and messages of gratitude, every reader has a voice. The magazine celebrates nostalgia, fun, and the joy of staying mentally active. Whether you're solving a puzzle, sharing memories, or making a paper daffodil, Activities For You is here to brighten your day and bring people together.

The first copy of the magazine is free of charge. A subscription for six months costs £30 or individual copies are available at £6 each.
