Launch of the Refill Scheme in Hertford
At the latest meeting of our regular Business Breakfasts, Hertford Town Council was delighted to officially launch the Refill scheme for Hertford.
Working in collaboration with Ware Town Council, we have signed up to City to Sea's Refill campaign to reduce plastic pollution on our streets and in the sea. The Refill campaign aims to reduce single use plastic by providing local places to top up reusable water bottles.
Hertford Castle, the Town and Tourist Information Centre and Mudlarks Garden Café are already Refill stations and many local Hertford businesses have now committed to join us, so water bottles can be filled up anywhere the Refill logo is displayed; plus, the downloadable Refill app shows Refill locations across Hertford, Ware and beyond! Updates, including local Refill stations and how to download the app are listed at:

“We are delighted to officially launch the Refill campaign alongside our local businesses who have been so engaged and supportive of all our environmental efforts to make Hertford cleaner and greener.
We having been working with Ware Town Council on this project for a while and shared our mutual goal of reducing single-use plastic back on World Refill Day on 16th June 2024. Now we very much look forward to sharing details of the businesses who have signed up to the Refill campaign and providing Refill stations across the area for our residents and visitors to enjoy”.
The Business Breakfast meeting was attended by Councillors, The Mayor of Hertford and Hertford businesses to work in co-production to grow the town’s local economy - for business, our residents and our visitors. The breakfast meeting was kindly hosted by BEAM who have included the Refill logo on all their reusable cups.
