Hertford musical supporting earlier cancer diagnosis charity

Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society’s (HD&OS) latest production We Will Rock is supporting the Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust.

HD&OS's latest production We Will Rock You has debuted at the town’s Bentley Theatre.

The “Young@Part edition” show features more than 20 hit Queen songs and runs until Saturday. It follows the story of Galileo, Scaramouche and the Bohemians, as they fight to take back the iPlanet from the all-powerful Globalsoft, led by the Killer Queen.

For this production, HD&OS is supporting the Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust, with £1 from every ticket sold donated to the charity.

Jess Brady was a former member of the HD&OS Young Idea section who, tragically lost her life at the age of 27 to cancer. Despite her many attempts to seek medical support, the cancer went undiagnosed until it was too late to be treated.

The Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust was set up by her family to develop awareness and improve earlier diagnosis to help improve survival rates for all.

We Will Rock You takes place in the Studio Theatre at Bentley House on Pegs Lane, until Saturday 17th May at 7.30pm, with a matinee on Saturday at 4.00pm.

For over 100 years HD&OS has been performing shows in Hertford, from early days at Hertford Corn Exchange right up to the present day at BEAM and the Studio Theatre.
