Hertford Castle Craft Market & Open Day

To mark the end of the month-long Hertford Arts Festival, Hertford Castle will open its doors for the first time this year on Sunday 5th May.
The annual Hertford Castle Craft Market will take place on the Castle lawn from 12noon – 4pm with free entry.
There will be over 40 craft stalls exhibiting and selling an array of merchandise. From handmade jewellery to homeware, food goods to embroidery, cards, and clothing. The stallholders will showcase some of the county’s finest craftsmanship.
For families feeling creative, children can decorate their own crowns and participate in the giant art workshop out on the castle lawn free of charge. Concessions will be available on the lawn including crepes, cakes, ice cream, BBQ food and even Thai cuisine.
Inside the Castle, visitors are welcome to explore the basement, which features themed rooms such as the ‘dungeon’, ‘Victorian kitchen’, ‘stock room’ and the ‘court room’.
The Downshire Suite and Robing Room will also be open for the public to visit and volunteers will be on hand to help answer queries.
Entry to the event is free to attend, although donations to the Mayor’s charities are welcome.
