Become a mentor and help young people in Hertford achieve their potential

Find out more about becoming a charity mentor.

Residents interested in working with young people to help them achieve their full potential can find out more at a charity drop-in taking place in Hertford next week.

The Hertford Town & Tourist Information Centre, at 10 - 12 The Wash, will be hosting charity MCR Pathways on Friday 30th May between 1pm and 2pm. No appointment is necessary.

Working together with their mentors, MCR Pathways helps young people to realise their skills and progress onto a positive destination. The vision is for all young people to experience equality of education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances.

The charity has held a series of drop-in sessions at the Town & Tourist Information Centre, successfully recruiting local volunteers to mentor young people in Hertford schools.

Mentors spend an hour each week listening to and encouraging a young person in their school. The relationship that develops is what makes the difference. Could you help a young person to build their confidence and discover their potential?

Mentors and young people are carefully matched based on their likes, personality and life-experiences. Everyone is different, so the charity looks for mentors from all walks of life. When one person mentors, two lives are changed.
