The programme opens with Beethoven’s dramatic Egmont Overture, a stirring work of heroism and defiance.
Rising star Katie Mazur then takes centre stage for Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s richly expressive Violin Concerto, a rarely performed gem full of lyrical beauty and rhythmic vitality.
The concert concludes with Dvořák’s much-loved ‘New World’ Symphony – a thrilling and heartfelt masterpiece inspired by the composer’s time in America.
