Following a Heritage Lottery Fund award of £985,000 in 2007 the museum has undergone a major refurbishment and is now an accessible, fun and fascinating museum where everyone can enjoy, engage with and be inspired by their heritage.

Go behind the scenes at Hertford Museum stores. Discover how we store and care for our vast and varied collection. Visit the Roman corn drying oven and learn more about the fascinating Foxholes Farm excavation. Visit our reference library and see some of our volunteers in action conserving collections in the workroom. Enjoy a cup of tea and cake and FREE family crafts in the Millbridge room.
