Hertford Town Council is launching the Love Hertford Awards 2018 on Friday 16th March. This is a new competition aimed to recognise and commend traders in the county town of Hertfordshire, highlight the wealth of shops and services on offer in our town centre and neighbourhood shopping areas, and encourage residents to shop locally.
Businesses are encouraged to enter the free of charge competition for a chance to be crowned winner of the following set out categories:
Pub or Restaurant
Café or Fast Food
Hair and Beauty
Health and Wellbeing
Home and Interiors
Community and Voluntary
Food and Drink Retailers
To enter the competition, businesses will need to self-nominate themselves into a maximum of two categories.
Businesses can collect a nomination form from the Town and Tourist Information Centre or enter online by visiting www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LWBCFL2
The closing date for self nominations is Friday 13th April 2018 at 17.00.
The Love Hertford Awards Committee, made up of the Mayor of Hertford, Chairman of the Development and Leisure Committee and the Town Centre Officer will shortlist five candidates from each category.
The public will then be able to cast a vote for their preferred winner for each category.
The winner and finalist will be announced at an awards ceremony at Hertford Castle in June.
The Love Hertford Awards has been introduced to celebrate and recognise the array of county town businesses. The competition aims to promote and support the local businesses and will replace the Cheerful Trader competition.
