The annual Hertford Town Council community event, ‘Cars at the Castle’, a free car show and open day at Hertford Castle, will take place on Sunday 3rd June from 12noon to 4pm.
This family friendly event will have hot and cold food concessions and a bar. For the children there will be a bouncy castle, and there will also be live music throughout the afternoon.
The cars will be exhibited on the lawn, with Hertford Castle as their back drop. Hertford Castle will also be open to the public free of charge to explore.
The car show includes a Ford Thunderbird from 1957, a 1925 Bentley, a 1930 Ford Hotrod, a Ferrari Spider, 1957 Porsche and over 30 more classic or modern vehicles.
During the event the Mayor of Hertford along with a judging panel made up of the event sponsors Kerb Appeal, The Auto Agency and Go Move will be judging and awarding trophies to the car owners. The categories include best paint work, best interior, best post 1970 car, best pre-1970 car, best British and best foreign car.
Chairman of Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: “Cars at the Castle was a hugely popular event in its first year last year, and it’s great to have it back as part of Hertford Town Council’s programme of events at Hertford Castle this summer. It will also be another opportunity for people to explore Hertford Castle – if you live locally and have never been inside the Castle, make sure 2018 is the year you visit!”
