Free Car Show & Castle Open Day
The annual Hertford Town Council community event, ‘Cars at the Castle’, a free car show and open day at Hertford Castle, will take place on Sunday 23rd June from 12noon to 4pm.
This family friendly event will have hot and cold food concessions and a bar. For the children there will be a bouncy castle, and there will also be live music throughout the afternoon.
The cars will be exhibited on the lawn, with Hertford Castle as their backdrop. Hertford Castle will also be open to the public free of charge to explore.
With over 40 cars due to exhibit, dating all the way back from 1913 right up to 2018 there promises to be something for everyone. The range of vehicles on the day will include, Austin, Ford, Dodge, Porsche, Singer and Lotus amongst others.
During the event the Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Rosemary Bolton, will be judging and awarding trophies to the car owners. The categories include best paint work, best interior, best post 1970 car, best pre-1970 car, best British and best foreign car.
Chairman of Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: “Cars at the Castle has quickly become an established annual event at Hertford Castle. It will be good to once again welcome an array of cars which will be of interest to car enthusiasts, to people who remember some of the vehicles from the past, and to everyone who enjoys seeing unusual cars. It will also be another opportunity for people to explore Hertford Castle, and enjoy live music in the picturesque setting.”
